Cabrillo Specification for contest logs.b>Cabrillo is a universal format for contest logs in most competitions. The World Wide Radio Operators Foundation (WWROF) administers the Cabrillo Specification on behalf of the contesting community. So, what is the Cabrillo format? Эit is essentially a simple text file, where each line must begin with a so-called tag (in other words, a keyword). The tag must end with a colon (:). There must be at least one space between the tag and the data. The file in the Cabrillo format must contain the following two tags: START-OF-LOG: version-number Must be the first line of the log submission. The current version-number is 3.0. Example: START-OF-LOG: 3.0 END-OF-LOG: Must be the last line of the log submission. Although, according to the Cabrillo format, the tags in the log can follow each other in any order, but in general it is accepted that in the log first specify the tags containing information about the participant (this part of the log is usually called the "Log Header"), and then the tags containing information about the QSOs. Log Header Tags.CALLSIGN: callsign The callsign used during the contest. Example: CALLSIGN: UA9QCQ CONTEST: contest name String to identify the contest. Valid characters are A-Z, 0-9, and hyphen (-). Maximum length is 32 characters. Contest sponsors, such as as a rule, they determine what value should be specified in this field. The list of popular contest names can be found here here. Example: CONTEST: RDXC Please do not enter the full name of the contest (competition) and the year of its holding in this field. CATEGORY-OPERATOR: The category-operator must be one of the following:
CATEGORY-OPERATOR: SINGLE-OP Please do not enter any other values in this field (such as SOHP, MOST, etc.) other than those specified above. CATEGORY-ASSISTED: The category-assisted must be one of the following:
CATEGORY-ASSISTED: NON-ASSISTED The use and filling in of this tag is not mandatory, if there is no division of categories in the contest, on the stations that use any of them. third-party assistance (for example, using a DX cluster, Internet sites showing DX spots) and at stations that do not use such assistance. CATEGORY-TIME: 12-HOURS For some contests, sponsors may apply different values. CATEGORY-TRANSMITTER: It is used to indicate the number of transmitters, mainly for MULTI-OP categories, as well as for SWL identification. The category-transmitter must be one of the following:
CATEGORY-TRANSMITTER: ONE CATEGORY-OVERLAY: Used to indicate participation in additional categories. The format standard provides the following value options: CLASSIC, ROOKIE, TB-WIRES, NOVICE-TECH and OVER-50. If the organizers do not provide additional categories, then you do not need to use or fill in this tag. Example: CATEGORY-OVERLAY: OVER-50 For some contests, sponsors may apply different values. OFFTIME: begin-time end-time This tag is used to indicate off-time. First, the start time of the break is indicated, then the end time of the break. The time is specified in the format (yyyy-mm-dd nnnn), where yyyy is the year, mm is the month, dd is the date, and nnnn is the time to the minute. Example: OFFTIME: 2020-03-22 0300 2002-03-22 0743 In this example, the station did not operate from 03.00 UTC on March 22, 2020 (i.e., the last QSO before the break could be no later than 02.59 UTC) to 07.43 UTC on March 22, 2020 (i.e., the first QSO after the break could be no earlier than 07.44 UTC), and the total off-time was 4 hours and 44 minutes. LOCATION: Used to indicate the location where the station was operating from. The format standard provides the following options:: - for IARU-HF and for all ARRL and CQ contests: For USA and Canada stations LOCATION must be the ARRL section abbreviation. For foreign stations LOCATION must be DX. - for Islands on the Air (IOTA) Contest: For stations operating from the islands must be Island Name (not IOTA reference number). - for Russian DX Contest: For stations from Russia, the RDA Number is specified according to the RDA list. Example: LOCATION: KN02 this tag, so you should fill in this tag based on the requirements set by the sponsors. GRID-LOCATOR: Used to indicate the Maidenhead Grid Square where the station was operating from. Example: GRID-LOCATOR: MO16TB OPERATORS: A space or comma-delimited list of operator callsign(s). You may also list the callsign of the host station by placing an "@" character in front of the callsign within the operator list. If the station worked in the category SINGLE-OP with your personal callsign, then you do not need to fill in this line in the log. Example: OPERATORS: UA8AAA UA8BBB @RF9B OPERATORS: UA8AAA, UA8BBB, @RF9B Please do not enter your name or other information in the line that is not provided by the format (do not confuse the OPERATORS tag with the 'OPERATOR' field in your QSL cards). CLUB: Name of the radio club to which the score should be applied. If there is no club score in the contest, then you do not need to fill in or specify this tag. Example: CLUB: RCC Please specify no more than one club, unless otherwise specified in the rules of the contest sponsors. NAME: Used to specify the full name of the participant. The data in this field should be the same as you specify it in the mail. Example: NAME: Oleg N. Vdovin ADDRESS: Mailing address. Each line should be a maximum of 45 characters long. Up to 6 address lines are permitted. You can use also next fields for providing mailing address details: ADDRESS-CITY: city (locality etc.). ADDRESS-STATE-PROVINCE: state (province, etc.) ADDRESS-POSTALCODE: postal code ADDRESS-COUNTRY: country Example: ADDRESS: P.O. Box 401, Shadrinsk, Kurganskaya obl., 641870, Russia or ADDRESS: P.O. Example: CREATED-BY: N1MM Logger+ 1.0.8841.0 CLAIMED-SCORE: The claimed-score of the log submission, in integer form such as 1217315 or 19113 or 12. Do not include commas, decimals, or other text. Example: CLAIMED-SCORE: 1217315 Currently, most sponsors do not need this data, because they use their own software to calculate the claimed scores, and the data of this tag is usually ignored by them. CERTIFICATE: Indicate if you wish to receive, if eligible, a paper certificate sent via postal mail by the contest sponsor. Most sponsors do not actually use this tag, so it is recommended that you use it if it is somehow specified in the contest rules. It can take one of the following values:
Example: CERTIFICATE: YES SOAPBOX: Soapbox comments. Enter as many lines of soapbox text as you wish. Each line is a maximum of 75 characters long and must begin with SOAPBOX: followed by a space. Example: SOAPBOX: Nice contest! Some organizers ask participants to indicate more substantive comments in this tag. X-<любое слово>: Tags starting with < b>X- are ignored in most cases when processing logs by the sponsor software. However, some contest sponsors may use such tags to obtain additional information from participants and explicitly specify in the rules which tag should be used to indicate such information. The exception to this rule is the X-QSO tag (see below). Example: X-HNY-PHRASE: HAPPY NEW YEAR Tags for specifying QSO data.QSO: QSO data as specified by the Cabrillo QSO data format. X-QSO: Any QSO marked with this tag will be ignored in your log when calculating your score, but can be credited to your correspondent. Use this tag to mark QSOs that you don't want to count in your score. |
